The Old George was situated on Woburn
Street. This grade-II listed pub is now used as a private house. |

building details: |
Late C17 - early C18. 2 storeys of whitewashed brick with 3
gabled dormers in tiled roof. A continuation (downwards) of the roof covers
a one-storey wing, which juts forward from the east end of the Inn. On the
ground floor level the centre of the Inn is also built forward to the same
extent. 3 sashed windows in the main section: one window in the wing.
Decorated architrave to door. Broad carriageway archway. Timber framework
exposed on side elevation. |
