The Oakley Arms was situated at 98 High Street.  This pub is famous for Paul McCartney playing 'Hey Jude' here on 30th June 1968 while passing through the village on the way north to visit Cynthia Lennon. This was almost a month before the record was released.

This pub has now reopened.
