The Brickmakers Arms was situated on Wobun Road. This pub closed in the 1990s and is now used as a private house.
I lived in this pub in the early 50s. My paternal grandfather was the licencee(William Bain). I know most of the trade came from the nearby brickworks. One son ran the Plough In bedford in the 60s. I myself ran the Plough in aberaman(s wales)in the 90s. Some of his grand children still live in lidlington/ amptil/ houghton conquest.
