When this old pub in Reading was known as the Railway Tavern the Catholic saint, Dominic Barberi died there in August 1849 after suffering a probable heart attack on the Paddington to Gloucester train and was taken to the tavern awaiting the arrival of a doctor. How many other pubs have had a saint die in them?

Margaret Ward 1980s I remember having lunch there with my father who worked in the Mail Centre across the road. I think quite a few of the staff from the Mail Centre were customers there. My father's name was Billy Ward, if anyone remembers him. He died in 2004.
