The Elephant & Castle was situated at 185 Waterside.

With its faded green exterior, industrial location and general air of neglect, I never felt moved to cross its threshold. In the seventies it was Chesham's only Courage pub but it doesn't appear as if any attempt was ever made to exploit this advantage, however marginal. It closed in the early 2000s.
