The Kings Arms was situated on King
Street. |
|
Was a small but generally quite neat pub on the corner of
King Street and Amy Lane. From the seventies to the nineties, it was an
unremarkable Allied pub which for most of this period didn't even sell real
beer. However, in the late 1990s the tie was relaxed and it started to sell
three or four beers from the independents and for a time even gave The
Queens Head a run for its money. But it wasn't to last. The landlord(s) left
and by the time they were replaced, the customer has drifted away. The new
tenants were never able to make a go of it and the pub sat empty before
being sold as residential accommodation in about 2010. |
