The Bell & Mast was situated on Brindley Avenue.
It was later known as The Masters and its pub sign was of three professors
adorning mortarboards. It reverted to its earlier name in 2012 and closed in
2013. |

Summer 1976, myself and a few friends
were collected by my Dad from the RGS school after finishing our A-Level
exams, and we stopped here on the way home to Downley where he bought us a
pint. Probably my first “official” pint, although very doubtful my first! I
can’t remember ever returning here though. |
