The Happy Wanderer was situated at 143 Arnison Avenue. This pub is due to be converted into an Islamic Centre.

I grew up at 263 Bowerdean Road and remember the pub being built. Alas too young at the time to have a pint. I seem to recall that the pub was owned, or ran, by Norman West who at one time played for Wycombe Wanderers, hence the name. Later the sign changed to a cheerful tramp which hid it's origins.
