My earliest memory is of kneeling on the window seat and watching the barrels of beer being rolled down into the cellar, through the hatch shown in the photo. My grandfather, Arthur Clement (ex RN Yeoman of Signals), took over the license when he returned from New Zealand (approx 1933/34) and I was born there (actually in Farnham Common) in 1945. As we moved to Preston Lancs when I was three, this memory must be sometime in 1947/8/9.
