Black Boy

The Black Boy was situated at 14 High Street. Originally known as The Unicorn, this late 17th century building still exists today in largely the same external condition as when constructed, as it's a grade-II listed building of special interest (along with most other buildings on West Wycombe's wonderful old High Street). It's not clear when the pub exactly closed - records show the publican in 1931 to be Thomas Martin, but it was certainly still in business for several years after that. The passageway through the building reveals its coaching origins, and there is an extant property in the rear courtyard called "Black Boy Cottage"
