The Jolly Millers was situated on
Newnham Road, and is now used as an Indian restaurant. Closed c1981. |

My grandad was the landlord of the Jolly Millers pub in Newnham Rd from the
late 60s until it closed down in about 1981.
His name was Barry Raymond (Barrington Raymond).
Me & my brother used to get sent up there to stay all through the school
holidays in the Glam Rock & Punk days of the early 70s! I used to go to the
Corn Exchange to see punk rock bands in 1977 and 1978 etc. Superb days!. We
loved it. Loved the area. Everything.
If you come across any photos of that area I'd love to see them! |
