The Two Swans was situated at 22 Clarendon
Street. |

I own the property, which is on
the corner of Clarendon Street and Orchard Street CB1 1JS.
As far as I can tell from the deeds and conveyances, the pub (formerly a
bakery) closed during World War 1 and the property was sold in November 1919
for £580, which was quite a lot in those days. Its purchaser was a man
called Percy Wing, who ran it as a local grocery shop, although the small
shop at the side, visible in your photograph, in Orchard Street, remained a
separate off-licence until 1986. |
