I used The Wheatsheaf in 1966. It was
situated nearly opposite Histon Road on Castle Street / Huntingdon Road. If
you were driving there was an arch under the pub you could drive under to
the car park at the rear of the pub. |

I drank in this pub on the night it closed. It
was demolished to build a De Vere Hotel on the site but that never happened
and a huge hole remained in the ground there for a number of years until
offices were built (subsequently demolished and student accommodation
erected in its place). |
