Railway Inn

The Railway Inn was situated on Murrow Bank. This pub is now used as a private house.
My great, great grandfather Samuel Kelsall ran the pub from the early 1870s until his death in 1897. Family legend has it that he consumed a lot of his own wares and would often sleep off the effects overnight in the cellar and only emerge just before the pub was due to open up again the next day. My great grandfather and his brother were teetotallers as a result!
