The New Inn was built on Station Road next to Oakington village railway station, for the
usual traveller passing trade of those days. Closed on 21st May 1989, a few years
after the line's closure and now used as a residence. The former pub and
station are on the outer edge of Oakington, by Westwick hamlet. The old line
route is now busy, in its new use as a Guided Busway, between Cambridge and
St. Ives. Buses stop at or next to the original stops and at a few extra
ones. |
