The New Mermaid was situated on the
Great North Road. This pub was originally opened as The Wansford Knight In
1932 and was re-named the New Mermaid Inn in 1936. After it closed in the
late 1970s the building was used as a Little Chef until 2007. Following
years of lying derelict, it was renovated in 2016 for use as architects’
offices. |
