The Commodore was situated at 25 Lord

A firsthand account of a ghostly encounter at
the Commodore, Lord Street, Birkenhead, since closed and demolished: I was
on my own in the pub late one night after all the customers had gone. The
boss had gone upstairs with the takings and I thought I saw someone out of
the corner of my eye. I turned to look and briefly saw a woman in a long
black cloak with a hood before she disappeared. The boss came down and I
told him that I thought I'd just seen a ghost and he said "Was she wearing a
long black cloak with a hood?". I said she was, to which he replied that
he'd seen her several times, always when he was the only person in the pub |
