The Fiddler I' Th' Bag was situated on Alder Lane. This pub closed in 2019. As a southerner, I was courting my Warringtonian future wife in this very pub in 1977. Not sure I would refer to what I remember as being a welcoming and comortable hostelry, as a 'haunt'. I recall it as being a light, airy and very pleasant place to enjoy a couple of beers and a ploughman's at lunchtime. Those were the days.
