The Post Office Hotel
was situated on Derby Street. This pub was present by 1825 when it was known
as The Mermaid. It was rebuilt in 1879 and renamed The Duke Of Connaught. In
the 1920s it was renamed again, to The Post Office Hotel. ThisNorth Cheshire
Brewery pub closed in 1957 when it was purchased by Macclesfield Corporation
for £3,900. It was demolished in 1963. |
