The Unicorn Inn was situated on the Market Place. This pub was present by 1815 when Robert Goode, previously governor of the Macclesfield workhouse, became the publican. It closed on 31st December 1917 following referral to the Compensation Authority. Payment of £943 was made including £43 to the publican.
