The Plough Inn was situated on College Street. It was built in 1839 and closed
in 2008, supposedly
because of major structural defects. This pub was unusual in having an
Indian landlord, Simon Majwardine, in the 1980s. It has now been converted to an
Indian restaurant. |

An alleged
tunnel is said to lead from The Plough Inn to Camborne Church: 'My parents
used to own the plough inn and one had to replace the floor boards…when they
pulled up the floor boards they found a stair-well of about 6 steps, at the
bottom of the steps was a tunnel which went straight to Camborne Church…it
was said to be used by monks' |
