The Fountain Inn was situated at 3 The Parade. This pub
closed in 2010.
The building dated from the 19th century and was
grade-II*listed.
In 2017 planning permission was granted to demolish part of the derelict
pub and convert the rest into flats. |

building details: |
Public house. Mid C19 remodelling of
probable C18 house. Stucco on studwork; dry Delabole slate roof, hipped on
the right; stone rubble stack on the left. Very deep plan including very
deep wing at rear. 3 storeys; 3-window range. Rusticated quoins and moulded
stucco architraves to later C19 four-pane horned sashes; those to 2nd floor
segmental-arched and with sill brackets. Ground floor has early C20
remodelling with two 5-light transomed bowed windows with leaded glazing; 1
doorway adjoining left of right-hand window, another doorway at far left,
both with pilasters; full-width moulded entablature with fascia over. |
