The Cornish Arms was situated on Fore Street. This grade-II listed pub closed in the 19th century and is now in residential use.

Listed building details:
House, originally detached. C17, with C19 alterations. Pebbledash on timber-frame with string courses to front; dry slate hipped roof with wide front gable on the right; large rear rubble stack. Single-depth extended to double-depth plan original end-on-to-street range on the right, probable parlour wing extension on the left plus early C19 wing in the angle at rear left. 2 storeys plus attic on the right; irregular 2-window range. C20 windows. Late C19 gable-fronted open porch with shaped bargeboard; late C19 4-panel door. To 1st floor of right-hand return is rare original single-light round-arched window of single piece of oak. Left-hand return of front range blind; wing with early C19 16-pane hornless sash to 1st-floor centre and doorway with ledged door on the right. Interior not
inspected but likely to be of interest.
