St Aubyn Arms

Date of photo: 2005

Picture © Jo Turner

The St Aubyn Arms was situated at 1 Harbour View, St Michaels Mount. No1, Farthest, was St Aubyn Arms east wing until 1902. Probably 18th century, as the rest of the row is Grade II Listed. No2 was the east wing of the same public house. The pair of cottages 3 and 4, nearest, are late 19th century but possibly remodelling of a 18th century house. Searching my directories for St Aubyn Arms I find; 1830 James Goldsworthy; 1844 and 1852 unable to locate; 1856-1897 Henry Burt; 1902 Mrs Jane Burt; 1906 and after unable to locate. It looks as if Henry Burt died around 1900 and his wife took over for a few years but it was closed by 1906 possibly when she died?
