The Fishermans Arms was situated on Harbour Road. Now demolished, The Bickford-Smith Institute Building Institute including library, reading room and clock tower stands on the site of the former thatched pub.  Early directories don’t seem to include Porthleven but searching for the Fisherman’s Arms I find; 1852 Solomon Rowe; 1856 Samuel Dobb; 1873 Mrs Mary McCarthy; 1883 not listed.
