The Bullers Arms was situated at the
junction of Falmouth Road and Trewirgie Road looking down Penryn Street. A
hatch opened from the bar to the entrance hall and the locals stood around
in the hall all evening. The public bar was through the hall to the right.
Sparsely furnished . The only landlord I knew was Bill Harry who had lost a
leg in the war. His wife was Mrs Harry to all except when she visited my Mum
across the street when she was Gladys (not to me!). There was a granite
mounting block at the back from horseriding days and extensive outbuildings
presumably once stables. Closed late 1970s to early 80's now appears a
residential property. |
