I had my first Saturday job
collecting glasses at this Pub way back in 1976 when Roy and Stella
Fairhurst were the licencees. Roy and Stella moved on to the Prince of Wales
in Denton Holme Carlisle and ultimately the Royal British Legion in
Cockermouth before retiring and passing away. Roy had been a professional
footballer before entering the licensed trade and was the perfect Pub
Landlord. Many happy memories! |
