Museum Inn

The Museum Inn was situated at 17 Castlegate.
I lived in Penrith for five years (1985-90) and the Museum became our local, run by Ted the landlord and his wife. I will dig out photo's when I find them. It was a small but a great locals Jennings pub, I had my wedding reception there and Ted got an extension as we got wed at 9.30 and the pub opened an hour early. I was a member if the quiz team and also the darts team. Lovely pub.

Roger Dillworth 1990/2000 Being a long distance lorry driver I would park up and walk down the hill towards town, half way was the Museum, the landlord, whose name I know not.was very welcoming. In my work I visited so many different establishments all over the UK, so very many no longer here and it really is so sad. The Museum was an odd one off and so was the landlord but a nice old character. I hope he's still with us but, ah well.
