The Vaults was situated on Station Road West opposite Bransty Row. It was the public bar of the Grand Hotel, considered to be the grandest hotel in the north of England, and connected directly to the original Bransty Railway Station disembarkation point. The hotel was destroyed by fire on January 21st 1940
