The Spread Eagle was situated on Burton Road. This pub was also known as The Halfway House and was demolished for road widening sometime in the late 1960's / early 1970's . The last landlord was Fred Shaw. This was a typical country pub owned by Altons Brewery Derby then Ind Coope and it was already 250 years old by the time it was demolished .
