The Albert was situated on Sheffield Road. This
pub closed in 1938 and re-opened in 1958 as the Albert
Social Club; however later demolished for council housing after being sold
to Chesterfield Borough Council. |

My Grandfather Herbert Cousins ran The Albert circa 1928 to 1933. He use to
work down Glapwell Colliery Pit to enable him to buy beer to sell in the
pub. |
