The Every Arms was situated on Burton Road.
It was once the village pub of
Egginton and was very popular with families as it was next to the canal .
Trade suffered when Burton Road was transformed from a country lane to a
dual carriageway in the 1970's and the final nail in coffin was when the
central reservation was closed cutting off the village of Egginton and
creating a 2 mile detour.
Plans were submitted to demolish the pub and build a restaurant but this was
refused and planners allowed the removal of the first floor as long as the
position of the original windowson the ground floor were unchanged . It now
trades as a Indian restaurant Anoki . |
