The landlord of the Anchor Inn in Little Eaton between 1841 and 1866 was Isaac Mason. In the 1861 census his occupation is shown as Publican and sub-postmaster" A notice in the Derby Mercury says that he died at his home at the Anchor Inn on 24th June 1866. His wife, Lyia continued to live at the Inn and her occupation in the 1871 census is shown as "Licensed Victualler". Derby Record office have a document giving the "Sale Particulars of Delicensed Premises, formerly known as the Anchor Inn at 203 Alfreton Road, Little Eaton" which describes the property as it was in 1956. It is now a private house but a stained glass widow with a picture of an anchor can still be seen to the front of the property.
