The Chimes was originally known as The
Royal Oak but its name was changed to reflect the sound of the bells at the
12th Century Taxal, St James Church which is located next to the former pub.
The Innkeeper in 1861 was Henry Morten. This pub was closed in the 1980's
and the building is now a private dwelling. |
