The Swan Inn was situated at 220 High St. The entrance to the pub which was situated within the building was through the second door after the gap in the buildings, Higher Market St (Queen St after 1839). 220 & 222 High St were demolished to make this road. The Basement of 224 High Street became The Chaucers Inn.
