Lobster Inn

The Lobster Inn was one of Devon's more obscure pubs. It was derived from a collection of early illegal and somewhat wandering drinking houses and smuggling dens. It took a more definite shape when it became legally licensed at Sunnylands in around 1819 but became unlicensed in 1860 when the Rate Book called it 'former Lobster Inn'. It later became a private Hotel and is now a private house called Lobster Cottage.
