The Star Inn was situated on the corner of New Street and
King Street. The building dates from the 18th century; there was originally
a large garden behind it but now it is now houses and King Street car park.
For the last 40 years The Star was the home of pigeon racing in Honiton, the
landlady Sue White being the chairman of the South Road club. Late in 2010
Wetherspoons showed an interest in buying The Star but it closed in May
2011, and is now (December 2011) standing empty. |
