The Mutterton Inn was open in 1891 with my great great great grandmother, Mary Ann Flay, aged 71, the publican.

This pub was recorded in the 1871 and 1881 censuses as being run by my husband's great great grandfather, William Flay. He died in 1887 and the licence was transferred to his widow, Mary Ann Flay, who ran the pub until her death in 1900. Charles Salter then became the publican until the pub closure in 1907.
