The Commercial Inn was situated on Highweek Street. This pub closed c1936 and the licence transferred to the Heavitree Arms (now called The Newton Arms, still trading). Now demolished, the pub stood where the market gates are. Small remains are left in the now contrived wall of The Swan, next to which it stood.
