The Butchers Arms was situated on the corner of Tavistock Road and Grenville Street. This was a former slaughterhouse, converted to a public house in the mid 19th century. Closed during World War I, it was demolished along with all the other buildings in the same row. This area is now the frontage of the Plymouth University building.s
