I used to
drink here in the 1960-1970s. Many fine local independent ales attracted
loads of customers as did the live blues bands on a Saturday night. If I
recollect correctly our band played there a couple of times. A dear friend
Sandie often got up and sang a few numbers with great gusto. My God she had
a very loud voice which her other half Dave bravely bore. |

I remember
having a pint of ‘Christmas Pudding’ beer here around 1975. It was often
referred to as ‘The Mucky Duck’ – it had a nice atmosphere and an individual
feel about it. |
