building details: |
Public house. Circa C16 and later.
Stone rubble, plastered front with pilasters. Thatched roof with gabled
ends, west gable end has stone coping. Two storeys. Four window range. C18,
C19 and modern three-light casements with glazing bars. Narrow carriageway
to right of centre. Brick chimney stacks at gable ends and at ridge. Two
wings at rear, one with half-hipped thatched roof.
Interior: Part of one jointed cruck truss is visible. Plank and muntin
screen. Open fireplace with cambered bressumer and chamfered stone jambs.
Cambered arch doorway on first floor. |
