Site of The Quay Inn

The Quay Inn was situated on Old Quay Street. This pub closed c1980 and was subsequently demolished to allow expansion of the dockyard. The above warehouse was built on a triangular plot of land that once contained the pub. A simple building, probably was once two workers cottages. Also known as The Old Quay, it was owned by Plymouth Breweries and also sold groceries to the crews of ships in the docks.
