The
Oxford Arms was situated on the junction of Fore Street and
Mickelmore Street.
This former Courage pub closed in the mid 1970s. Its Immediate use after
closed as a pub was as an Arthur Cooper off licence. |

My parents Phil ( Felix ) & Vera Fearon
moved into the Oxford Arms in 1938 with my 2 sisters Betty & Shirley. My
brother Tony & myself were born in the Oxford during the war.My Dad died in
1953 & my Mum carried on until 1960 when we moved to The Watermans Arms
Buckfastleigh, my Mum retired in 1965 |

my parents Bruce and marjorie johnson and uncle,Leslie sanderson,and
grandmother marjorie moores my farther was landlord for about 18 months,
i was aged 20 |
