Eight Bells

The Eight Bells was situated at 5 Church Street. This grade-II listed pub is now a private house called Bell House.


Listed building details:
Public House, attached. C17 and later additions (C19). Coursed lias stone walls. Slate roof with gable-end at left, hipped at right. Brick stacks at left gable and right eaves. 2 storeys. 3 windows, 3-light stone mullions (ovolo) with separate labels. Iron casements with opening centre light. Side wall (south) stone mullions of one, two and three lights C17. Straight bay window to ground floor left, 4-light stone mullion (cavetto), with hipped slate roof over. C19. Front doorway with moulded jambs and square head; door, wood with thin muntins, C20.
