White Hart

The White Hart was situated on White Hart Street. This grade-II listed pub closed in 1999.


Listed building details:
Hotel. c. Mid C19. Lias ashlar stone walls. Slate roof with projecting eaves. 3 brick stacks at left hand gable, right centre, right hand gable, Part-rusticated ground floor with quoins. Plat-bands at springing level, and between ground and first-floor. 3 storeys. 4 windows and a lower range at right hand. Large sashes with flat, semi-circular and segmental heads. Large, projecting stone keys. 2 are tripartite at ground floor, First and second floor have flat, projecting window-surrounds to tall sashes. Left centre bay projects, has segmental-headed carriage entrance with projecting stone balcony over. 2 round-headed windows to second floor. Front door, in right of centre bay, wooden 4-panelled with segmental fanlight over. Rear of premises are rubble-built; a continuous wall along back lane for 25 yards.
