The Star was situated on East Street. This grade-II listed pub closed in the 1970s and has now been converted into retail use. An 18th century building that what remodelled at the end of the 19th century.

 

 
Listed building details:
Mid C18 building with north front altered in C19. 2 storeys and attic. 3 windows with further bay at western end. Tiled mansard roof with large C19 gable. North front has been built cut to form a wide bay in centre with splayed ends; double hung sashes on lst floor splayed round ends of bay. Upper part overhangs; stuccoed; lower part of red brick. Double hung sashes on 1st floor. Public
house front on ground floor. Yard entrance through house to right hand with 1 sash window above.
