The Star was situated on East Street. This grade-II listed pub
closed in the 1970s and has now been converted into retail use. An 18th
century building that what remodelled at the end of the 19th century. |

Mid C18 building with north front
altered in C19. 2 storeys and attic. 3 windows with further bay at western
end. Tiled mansard roof with large C19 gable. North front has been built cut
to form a wide bay in centre with splayed ends; double hung sashes on lst
floor splayed round ends of bay. Upper part overhangs; stuccoed; lower part
of red brick. Double hung sashes on 1st floor. Public
house front on ground floor. Yard entrance through house to right hand with
1 sash window above. |
