The Ragged Cat was situated at 534-536 Christchurch Road. This pub was originally called The Palmerston Arms (presumably after the prime minister of the same name) and this name is still etched in stone on the building as it is today. Prior to that, in the mid-19th century it was also called The Ragged Cat. The pub closed in 2009, by which time it had been renamed The Palmerston Arms again. It has been converted into a mix of commercial and residential property.
