The Coach and Horses Hotel was
situated on The Street. This pub closed circa 1996 and has now been converted into flats.
This pub was built on the site of the
Three Crowns which was destroyed by fire in 1882. |

In 1978, I went camping with four of my friends.
Most of us had only just turned eighteen and it was our first holiday away
without parents.
We stayed at Manor Farm camp site and our first pub visit was dinner time on
the Saturday 26th August 1978. The pub was The Coach and Horses. Four of us
were playing on the pool table when my mate’s older brother came in and was
immediately refused to be served by the landlord, which we found hilarious
because he was older than all of us by two years. The landlord relented and
the older brother joined us for pool, but we never did let him forget it!
It was a great weekend and I retain fond memories of it. |
