The New Inn was situated at the corner of Fairmile Road and Clarendon Road. This pub has now been demolished and is to be replaced by flats.
The parents of Police guitarist, Andy Somers used to run the New Inn, Christchurch. "By 1968 Maurice and Jean Somers were looking for a challenge and became the landlord and landlady of the New Inn pub in Fairmile Road, Christchurch where, according to an article in the Bournemouth Times, Jean’s tasty steak and kidney puddings were a big hit with the customers......."
